Get to know “Mandate Ministry”
Minister Antowine Reames- Visionary
The Mandate Ministry was founded in 2022 by then, Deacon Antowine Reames. He had a vision to coordinate the men and boys in coming together to discuss real life issues and encourage one another. Everyone needs a place where they can be encouraged, feel safe, heard and not judged. Reames shared that, “after seeing all of the violence and misguided actions of young men after Covid 19 God placed it on my heart to create a place where men could guide each other through life’s challenges without fear of rejection or judgement”. He had the support of a few brothers in ministry during the planning phase. He is thankful for Pastor Walter Robertson III, Deacon David Caldwell, and Minister Patrick Duncan for their support and ideas. Reames shares that the kickoff to Mandate was via conference which was held August 2022. The theme was “Awakening the Warrior”, challenging one another to be more in God beyond their past, weaknesses, and mistakes.
Reames shares advice he would give to others is, “We all fall short sometimes but God still loves us. Even through our darkest and most vulnerable times and that we all have the same feelings of inadequacy at times”. Reames invites all men, no matter the age, church affiliation, color, etc., to join in on mandate. It’s definitely a date to sit and be encouraged by brothers who have all been through a few things and willing to encourage one another. Mandate is for every guy who wants good advice in life and has experience to offer to others to help us all become better men
Mandate meets the second Monday of every month at 6:00pm. ( currently at UBC maybe group call soon). Mandate is free and open to men who desire to grow in their place with God while encouraging one another along the way.
