When we think about blessings, we often think about the big blessings in our lives such as healing from a major illness, a new car, a new house, surviving a bad car accident, a promotion in our career, or recovering from an addiction. But what about the daily blessings of grace, mercy, and favor God continues to surround us with?
As of recently, the Coronavirus has become a primary topic of our thoughts and conversations. This virus has changed our lives globally, so much that we are temporarily living a new norm of social distancing. Instead of allowing panic and uncertainty to seep in your mind, let’s use this time to shift our focus and reflect on our many blessings. For many of us, there is no more ripping and running. No more commutes, no rushing to work each day, no more rushing to pick up the kids on time, no more rushing to take kids to their extracurricular activities, and we’re not even rushing to church service on Sunday morning. God is giving us to time to reconnect with family and friends, work on our God-given purpose, dwell in his Word, and be a beacon of Light for those who need hope during these dark times. Let us begin to thank God for peace, comfort, joy, love, family, friendships, protection, and hope. Honestly, I can go on and on about the many blessings I received just today. I encourage you to take a moment to list your blessings for today and reflect on the goodness of God. In spite of this pandemic in the world, God is STILL awesome and He is STILL worthy of our praise.
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
Psalm 143:5 I remember the days of long ago; I mediate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.
