Home is not just a place where you grew up. If you’re like me and you’ve lived in other cities, you realize that “Home is where the heart is”. If you are new to the area or looking for a church home, you may be contemplating what does a church home look and feel like. Although, I was born and spent most of my childhood in the Sumter County area, I’ve lived in others cities as well. To be honest, it can be scary going to a new place, with unfamiliar faces. Also, the search for a new church can take some time. However, I encourage you to pray about it and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Don’t give up looking and don’t stop attending church. We were created to learn, grow, and worship with others.
During the search, some may look for the most eloquent, “hanging on to every word” style of preaching or a choir that sings like an old episode of the Bobby Jones Gospel show. Although these things are enjoyable, it’s not the foundation. For me, a church home is a place where my kids and I can grow spiritually and receive the teaching of the Word of God in a way that we can retain it and apply it. I want to feel welcomed and loved. Most importantly, I want to contribute and serve according to God’s will and the needs of the church. I want to worship with a group of Believers who are there to…well, worship.
At Union, some of us are family by blood, but we are all family in Christ. We cry together. We laugh together. We’ve gone through devastations together and we’ve celebrated victories together. We believe in being led by the Holy Spirit which sometimes means conducting services in a different order or making adjustments. We believe in being obedient and surrendering to the Holy Spirit. If you are looking for a church family, we would love to see you on Sunday morning at 5840 Springhill Rd Rembert, SC 29128. If God leads you here, we pray you will enjoy our worship services and become a part of our family too.
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” ~John 4:23-24 NIV
“Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.” ~Psalms 34:3 NIV
