“6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.’” Joshua 1:6 ESV
Now that you can see the promise and have been commanded to arise and possess it, what’s next? How am I going to make it? This is scary because I’ve never seen this before, done this before, or been his way before? These questions can cause you to become overwhelmed with the change of scenery if you are not careful.
So how can I overcome the desire to stick to the status quo and overcome the temptation of going back to what I’m in my comfort zone? Well, it’s easy; use the “strength and courage” that you already have.
Your strength and courage stood firmly upon your faith in God, and because of that, you had the fortitude to survive and make it this far. Therefore, don’t give up now but take courage and know that the Lord will strengthen you for the journey into new and unchartered territory. For, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
