“43 Thus, the Lord gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there.” Joshua 21:43 ESV
When you read the entire book of Joshua, three things become apparent: God promised them land, they took possession of the land, and they settled in the land. But, first, notice that the only action required by God was “the promise.”
Once God makes a pledge or a promise to his people, it’s time for them to get to work. Remember, the first requirement from God after acknowledging Joshua’s mourning for Moses was for him to get up! So stop waiting on God to do everything; after the promise, the work must begin!
Take possession or stake your claim of full ownership of everything that the Lord has promised you. After that, relax, settle in, and make it your place of residence. Act now and let nothing or no one cause you to fail the three-step process. It has been promised now to take possession and settle in.
