“10 And Joshua commanded the officers of the people, 11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.” Joshua 1:10 ESV
Often, we make a very crucial mistake of failing to prepare. No man in his right mind should ask a woman’s hand in marriage until he has made the proper arrangements to receive her. His finances should be in order, his “little black book” should have been destroyed, and the fellas should already be assigned to the bench in preparation for the young man to commit himself to the woman. However, if the young man fails to prepare adequately, he may be setting himself up for possible hardships or even failure.
Preparation is a state of readiness or, in the people of Israel’s case, it’s the process of making ready to receive something that has been promised to you. Joshua knew that the people could not walk in the promise the same way that they wandered in the wilderness.
To walk in the promise requires preparation. There must be a total shift in the way you think and the actions you take if you desire to possess and enjoy the promise. The old way of thinking and doing things is now obsolete. Therefore, make the required adjustments and prepare yourself for the manifestation of the promises of God in your life because holiness makes you available for the manifestation of miracles in your life.
