A pandemic has brought forth panic, isolation and have left people wondering what do I do next. People are running to grocery stores and are emptying the shelves as they stockpile and hoard essentials as they have heard that the COVID 19 virus is coming. Yet pastors, preachers, ministers, and teachers have been declaring for years that Jesus is coming and no one is running to the churches to be saved.
It is as if our priorities have shifted to the point where we are more concerned about things that are temporal than we are about things which are eternal. Saints of God, things should not be like this. Now is a great season to witness the love of God to a world that is seeking answers and hope. Now is the time for every believer to take a stand in the midst of turmoil and panic and declare that Jesus Christ is the answer. This virus has attacked one of the pillars of our faith, “the assembling together of the saints.” Be watchful, Jesus Christ is soon to return. In the meantime, this is a call to the faithful to stand in faith instead of cowering in fear. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. So my brother and my sister, stand firm in your faith and testify of the goodness of the Lord during times such as this, while having confidence that you are under the protection of the King.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” ~ Eph 6:10-18
