John 9:1-12
We started out 2020 thinking it was going to be a perfect year of vision, in a sense where everything was going to work out in our favor. No one envisioned a pandemic. I have not heard of one person saying they were prepared to lose loved ones, jobs, hope, homes, friends, and faith. There are so many people who have been suffering in private and smiling in public because that is what is expected of them by society. But the truth of the matter is, life has felt like hell.
Just as the gentleman in this passage of Scripture, we have experienced an ailment that left us needing Jesus. Our ailment may not have been blindness. It could very well be grief, anxiety, depression, pain, sickness, or maybe even fear. The thing could be haunting us because we had no control over why we are dealing with hell- all we know is it is what we must endure.
I want to encourage you, that it may not feel good. But it is time for you to get up from that place. Jesus told the man to “Go”. We are in the last quarter of the year and it is time to go. One may say 2020 isn’t the year of perfect vision but I will argue that it sure did reveal things that we were not aware of. For instance: strength that we didn’t know we possessed, courage, peace, patience, and learning how to trust God when we didn’t understand. It may not have been perfect in our eyes, but God has a way of making everything work together for the good of those who love Him. While the pain and unknown was evident, we are still here. Let’s not forget the blessings and open doors. Let’s not forget how God kept providing.
It may be easy to stay in a comfortable place after everything that 2020 has given. But it is time for you to get up from there. You can no longer afford to live and die at the same time. You are destined to live. Get out of the dead place. Go! There are going to be people that stare once they see what the Lord has done in your life. They may even try to use your past against you, but GET UP from that place. It is time for you to see again, this time with the vision that God has given you. It may not be easy, but it is worth it. GO-Get up from there. We won’t leave this year looking like what we have been through. Greater is in you and it’s time to give God the glory for the things that HE has done. GET UP and tell the people about what He has done. Go!
