The Worship Team is purposed to serve in ministry by highlighting the services through ushering the congregation into an atmosphere of complete focus on God. The Worship Team is responsible for setting the tone of the service by aiding in preparing the hearts of God’s people to receive the preached Word! By doing so, the team demonstrates true worship from the heart through song!
Sister Beverly, the Worship Leader, shares that she would encourage other worshippers by expressing to them, “Never Stop Worshipping”!!! “Worship is a Lifestyle, it’s not just something we do on Sunday morning but to be an effective Worshipper, we must completely deny ourselves and submit TOTALLY to GOD!” says Sister Beverly. She adds, “It’s not always about singing each note just right but more so about the position of your heart while ministering!” In addition, “I believe that it’s truly hard to Worship God with malice, bitterness, envy, etc. in your heart”, says Sister Beverly.
“When ministering through worship songs, it may sound beautiful but without the Holy Spirit it’s just “A Performance”… ultimately, we should desire to be a Worshipper at Heart! Again, it’s who we are and why we were created! So, I encourage others to be true to the GIFT of WORSHIP. When we submit to God, we have the ability to quickly change the atmosphere through the Holy Spirit”!
“Worship is not predicated on feelings or emotions! We Worship in spite of! We know that breakthrough, healing, deliverance, and peace comes through our worship! A true worshipper does not envy or hate but is one who is Humble! No matter what, Remain Humble”!!
Sister Beverly shares that her favorite thing about worship is “there is always another level!” “We can never get too comfortable or complacent but should always strive for the next level, the next touch, or an even greater anointing! God has so much more and we cannot limit ourselves to just worship through songs!” Sister Beverly went on to say, “I always tell the team that we are so much more than just a Worship Team but we are called to a purpose beyond Sunday Morning!”
The team members all have their own battles and victories! They all have seen and experienced the extremities of life but they continue to stand, serve, worship, and minister! They still find time to minister to people on their jobs, homes, and in the streets at times. Some are caregivers for family members, counselors for the brokenhearted, and sometimes a listening ear for those that need to be heard. They may be a financial blessing to someone in need. The Worship Team is a small group of prayer partners who continue to give God the Glory!
Each member remains humble to be chosen for such mighty and great task. Each counting it as a blessing to stand before the people of God each week and usher God’s people into worship.
