“8 Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” Ecclesiastes 7:8 ESV
What does a runner get for running the race? The winner may be the only one to receive a trophy, but every person who runs will receive a prize. What is the award? It’s the satisfaction of knowing that you finished the race that your muscles proved to be healthy, your legs were faithful enough to carry the load, and you endured every step and every mile.
Now that you have reached the end of another spiritual race (the fast), know that your faith did not fail, your prayers endured, and your faithfulness was unwavering. And now that you have made it to the end, your prize is the fact that you are now stronger, more sensitive to his voice, and closer to the Lord than you may have been in a while. Take a bow; you have FINISHED STRONG!
