It’s a blessing to write such an inspirational reflection on Psalm 121. This Psalms is one of the greatest reminders when we are lost, in fear of failing, stressed out, or when we are in need. Psalm 121 reminds us that we can find all of our help comes from the Lord Jesus Christ. If you feel like you’re burdened down, like your spirit is heavy, like your thoughts are swirling before your feet even touch the ground Psalms 121 reminds you to look to the hills from the Lord. The hills represent the high places signifying heavenly places or the place where the Lord abides. In your greatest time of need remember God promised to never leave you or forsake you; therefore, He is with us through each trial, through every temptation, and He will always be there to lift us up when we fall. I don’t know what you’re going through, but lift your eyes to our father who has all power in His hands.
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
~ Psalm 121
As you meditate on this Psalm, may it be a constant reminder that God never promised us that life would be easy, but He did promise to never forsake us and to walk alongside us each and every day. No matter what you’re facing in life right now my brother or my sister, have faith in God and trust the process. Pain is merely a part of the process, so hold on, and remember that the source of your help in your greatest time of need is Jesus!!! Your faith in Jesus will carry you through when you feel like you have nothing else. So when you feel all alone, overwhelmed, or when you feel like God can’t be found, simply ask yourself “where my help comes from?”
So let me leave these truths from Psalms 121 for you to reflect upon and apply to life when you feel disheartened, stressed, or weary:
1. The Lord is our Keeper!
2. He will keep you from falling!
3. The Lord will protect you!
4. He is our creator!
5. He is our sustainer!
6. He is our Hope!
Prayer for God’s People
Our Father,
Thank you for your son Jesus and for the precious Holy Spirit, we are blessed to have him with us. Thank you for reminding us that no matter what we face or what we are going through, that you will be there to protect us and guide us. Thank you for simply caring for us today. I pray that you will continue to shower your love upon each of your beloved children. You have all power in your hands and I know that with you, we can accomplish any task and get through whatever obstacle or situation that comes our way. With you, we know our help comes from you in our greatest time of need. Help us to not focus upon ourselves, or upon our problems, but teach us to keep our eyes on you. Help us to remember that we choose to look to you in our time of help, for you alone are our source of strength, our hope for tomorrow, and our rock upon which we stand. In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
Grace and Peace,
