“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” ~Psalms 119:18
We’ve been looking all around us through veiled eyes. This is the reason that we sometimes miss things that are right in front of our eyes. For instance, some have been searching for love and being hurt over and over again only to discover that that person who comforted you every time, that person whose shoulder you’ve cried on a thousand times, that person was the one that God sent to love you beyond your faults and insecurities. Do you ever wonder why you could not see them all along? It’s because your eyes were closed.
This is how we are when we attempt to search God’s word for what we need without first acknowledging him in sincere prayer. We look upon the print on the pages or the screen and miss him time and time again. But if we would commit ourselves to seek him in prayer and acknowledging his presence first, the bible says that “He will direct our paths.”
May this time of fasting and prayer be your “aha moment, your eye-opener” where God opens your eyes and reveals something unto you in his word that you’ve never seen before. God is putting his wondrous works on display for all to see, and you’re next in line.
