
When we reflect upon the storms of life, let us think of those who are worse off than we are. Yes, during a storm you may lose your electricity, but some people will lose their cars, their homes, or maybe even lose their life.
When you look at it through the lens of life or death, you quickly realize that your situation isn’t as bad as you perceived it to be. There is an old familiar saying, “Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose,” this is so true so don’t quit keep playing the game.
The Apostle Paul had to endure the pains of life; he spoke of them in Philippians 4 when he said, “Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea…” After all of that, Paul NEVER GAVE UP! He went on to encourage the Philippian Church to learn,”to be content no matter the circumstances.” We will all get to this point when we accept the fact that it’s all in God’s will, whether ordained/direct or permissive.
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.”
BE CONTENT!
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” Philippians 4:12 NIV
