We know there is a pandemic going on and we know that things have changed. Some changes may be temporary while others are long-term. In times like these, we have to adapt and adjust to remain safe and healthy both physically and mentally. We can’t get stuck thinking about how things used to be. While we may not be happy with new changes and new protocol, there’s no need to grumble or complain. Let’s receive these new changes and execute them with joy and a positive mindset.
Many of us are feeling a bit apprehensive. I get it; I am too. If I had to be fully honest, I’ve had to work on maintaining my anxiety levels due to the amount of changes that have transpired in my career in such a short period of time. We’re all taking a journey into the unknown. But no matter what, we must trust the One who is all-knowing. God knew we would be experiencing this very moment. I would certainly think He wouldn’t want His people to remain stuck or be incompetent. We have to lean and depend on the Lord. We still have to go about doing God’s work, but some adjustment and adapting is required. As our teachers, administrators and our students return to school, as we return to work, and as we continue to serve the people of God, let us remember to “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I know it won’t be easy, but each day, I encourage you to find a scripture that resonates with you and meditate on it. While you’re traveling in your car, listen to worship music that changes your mood and atmosphere. Start your day with prayer that is powered with extraordinary faith. We can adapt, adjust, and progress, but only if we keep our eyes and focus on the Lord.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
